Atlanta Police Department (APD): Captain Singh has been promoted to Major and reassigned to COPS (the community policing unit); Allure started serving its suspension over the New Year’s weekend; the manager was arrested on New Year’s Eve for failing to heed the order to close; APD continuing to monitor the Allure situation closely

Doug Young (city planner): changes to zoning regulations that would allow for expanded food truck program; NPU-F will be considering this legislation at its February meeting;  NPU University six-week training course; applications due on February 1; call 404 546 0158 for more information

Jim Hardy (NPU-F Public Safety Chair): NPU-F voted to support CLEAR a conglomeration of interest groups (neighborhoods, businesses, and others) calling for a task force to study and seek revisions to the alcohol licensing process.

South Fork Conservancy Report: Creek Rising to Feature Quilt Exhibition and Auction This fall, the South Fork Conservancy’s major fundraising event, Creek Rising, will feature an inaugural quilt exhibit and auction. Held at Zonolite Park,“Quilting the Creek” offers local quilters the opportunity to showcase not only their needlework skills but also their connections to the natural world.  The quilts will be exhibited at various venues along the creek before the fundraiser and outdoors during the event itself.  The deadline for quilters to signal their intent to submit a quilt that they have made is February 15, 2021 at 5:00 pm. The deadline for delivering the quilt is June 14, 2021.
